The Red Cross provides about 40% of our nation’s blood and blood cell components to donors. RMT Patrick Cabreros shares his valuable knowledge about the importance of blood donation, the step-by-step process of it, and how donors benefit from it.
Your blood donations are used for patients in need of surgery, cancer treatment, and transfusions for blood loss from traumatic injuries. Transfusions also help people with disorders that prevent them from making blood correctly. The event is attended by the students and boy scouts of the community and serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

The move now is to stay sustainable and care for the environment, such that everything we do impacts the environment, and therefore we showed how our actions can be constrained in order to lessen the bad impacts that they will create on nature.
The club handed out seeds for planting that can be used by the Dumagats as cropping alternatives aside from the main crop that they are used to planting, which is ginger and turmeric. Upon arrival, the group had an actual experience of the post-harvest activity of the Dumagats with their ginger, which HCP Carlos gladly joined. As a show of support for their crop trade, some members of the Kaloob Pag-asa Team bought ginger and turmeric.

Education is the great equalizer, which tells us that every man and woman, rich or poor, no matter what background we have, is entitled to a quality education. As such, it is a basic right for every Filipino child to relish, including the children of Dumagats. The club made it a point that help would be given to ease out a little burden in conveying educational services, including learning kits, to the Dumagat learners.
A storytelling session with Interact President Zam Pador was also held. HCP Jing and HCP Gina taught the children some letter recognition, and prizes were given to those who were able to read the words that start with a particular letter of the alphabet.

Regular dental hygiene practices control bacterial populations in order to prevent oral health concerns as well as the spread of infection to other parts of the body. For this reason, it is essential to brush twice a day, floss once a day, and visit your local dental office at least once every six months. The event not only enhanced dental health but also brought value to service and community engagement.
In an uplifting community initiative, Rotaract District 3780 held the “Diamond Smile 2.0" aimed to bring dental care to children who might not have regular access to such services. The key focus was putting dental fluoride on children's teeth, a preventive measure against dental diseases.

Being a Rotaractor is fun—a memory where you get to meet a variety of leaders across the world that center on one goal—to help their immediate community in fellowship through service.
The Rotaract Club of ITE College East, Singapore, visited the Philippines for an overseas community service trip. The Rotaract Clubs of District 3780 had the chance to meet their members over an exchange program where they introduced their culture to everyone as well as their childhood games and likewise. We also took the opportunity to play the famous “patintero” to conclude the activity.

Health is wealth, so they say. A healthy community will definitely yield a better living condition for everyone, free from diseases and sickness. At Rotary, we believe that hygiene starts with the individual, and there is no better practice of hygiene than learning how to properly wash hands—so we showed them.
It was a sight to behold as the children sang their hearts out “Happy Birthday” while they washed their hands (the washing of the hands must approximately be as long as this song), meticulously mimicking the way HCP Gina and HCP Jing stroked and massaged their hands with soap and water. After which, the club led the rest of the team in the distribution of hygiene kits.

Mismanaged trash that escapes into waterways can create a wide range of problems. Aquatic trash affects water quality, endangers plants and animals, and pollutes the outdoor spaces that we depend on for tourism and recreation. The RC and RAC of Bagong Silangan, together with the RAC Bagong Sandigan, partners, and New Greenland people, join hands to make trash traps for its farm river.
The LGUs will be monitoring the trash traps (made of plastic bottles, poultry nets, and nylons) installed in their jurisdiction. Also, they will handle the collection, hauling, and proper disposal of waste from the trash traps, as well as the maintenance and operation of the equipment.

“With increasing life expectancy and the subsequent increase in the number of age-related, chronic diseases, including cancers, that require blood and blood products for treatment, we increasingly need more blood donors to meet these demands,” said Dr. Neelam Dhingra, Coordinator for Blood Transfusion Safety of the World Health Organization (WHO). The RAC QC MediaTech and RAC Bagong Sandigan successfully achieved their first joint community service project bloodletting activity.

The Philippines ranks fourth worldwide in tuberculosis incidence. About 1 million Filipinos have active tuberculosis, and nearly 70 Filipinos die every day from this curable disease. Stakeholders must recognize that at the core of tuberculosis endemicity are the socioeconomic determinants of health. Addressing these determinants is the key to ending one of the biggest health problems in the country.
